How long have you been working as a makeup artist?
I have been working as a Professional Makeup artist for over 8 years.
Where did you learn the art of makeup?
I studied makeup at The Sydney College of Makeup Art and successfully completed my course in Bridal, Fashion, Photographic and Evening Makeup in 2001.
Have you won any awards for your makeup artistry?
Yes, in 2005 I was twice awarded the winner of Best Bridal Makeup Artist of the year.
What makeup brands do you use?
I use a variety of professional makeup brands. Some of these include MAC, Bobbi Brown, Showface, Kryolan, Atelier, Estee Lauder, Clinique and many more. There are just too many amazing brands out there to use just one and I find using only one can be quite limiting as some girls may not like a particular brand or have allergies to it. Using a wide variety allows me to offer alternatives.
Do you travel to me on my wedding day?
For your convenience I travel to the brides home or venue on their wedding day. After all, its your day to be pampered and made to feel and look like an absolute princess. The last thing any bride would want on their wedding day is to have to rush around in traffic to have their makeup done.
Do you recommend I have a makeup trial prior to my wedding day?
Makeup trials are an absolute must. It’s an opportunity for us to meet each other and discuss the style, theme and feel of your wedding and for me to transform you into your most beautiful self.
When is the best time for me to have a trial?
I recommend having a trial 4-6 weeks prior to your wedding, however, should you wish to have a trial prior to this to decide upon whether you would like to book me as your makeup artist I suggest booking one at your earliest convenience.
Where are trials done?
Trials are held in my private studio located in South West Sydney.
How far in advance do I need to book?
I get booked well in advance. Often from 12-18 months ahead. Many sought after artists do. As soon as you find an artist who’s work you like, research their work, organise a trial if you so wish and book them in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Will my makeup last?
Yes. This is one of the most asked questions I receive. And rightfully so. I use only professional cosmetics of the highest quality. Professional cosmetics have a higher concentration of pigment than commercial makeup lines, therefore a little product goes a long way and lasts much longer. For extra staying power I also use a facial sealant. This is a lightweight facial mist which is lightly sprayed onto ones face once makeup has been completed. It sets the makeup, allowing it to last all night. The only product you will need to re-apply will be your lipstick or lipgloss.
Can you supply touch up lipstick and lipgloss on my wedding day?
For convenience I can supply touch up lipstick and lipglosses.
Do you do makeup for occasions other than weddings?
I regularly work on photo shoots, creating makeup looks for many Bridal and Beauty Publications (please refer to Magazine Gallery) as well as advertising shoots for bridal designers and some hair salons. Often I also do makeup for school formals and other special occasions such as christenings, engagements etc.
